Guildford Cathedral is the only cathedral in the South of England built on a new site during the 20th Century. The architect was Sir Edward Maufe and the Foundation Stone was laid by Archbishop Lang in 1936. Work was suspended for the duration of the second World War but was resumed with vigour in the 1950s. The completion of the Cathedral was made possible by the hugely successful "Buy a Brick" campaign when thousands of people from Surrey and beyond paid for and signed a brick, and the Cathedral was consecrated by the Bishop of Guildford, the Rt. Revd. George Reindorp.
Celebrating itís 40th Anniversary this year and with plans for its 50th birthday in mind, Guildford Cathedral is about to embark on a £10 million capital campaign. The first phase of this is expected to be a £2 million endowment for their music development campaign.
Further information about the cathedral can be found on their website at www.guildford-cathedral.org.

An ability to manage and grow an existing team of fundraising volunteers and manage the Campaign Office, both strategically and on a day to day basis. A skilled negotiator, you will be able to deal with people at all levels, prepared to draft applications for funding, have experience of arranging events, and have good committee and person management skills.

ACT is the only national organisation working to improve care and services
for all children in the UK with life-threatening or terminal conditions
and their families. Their work is needed because there are over 14,000

or no support. Registered in 1993, ACT has found that all families have
similar needs although their children have a wide range of life-threatening
conditions. They believe that they should all have equal access to palliative
care, wherever they live and whatever their illness.
For further information visit their web-site at www.act.org.uk
