The primary goal of SOS Children’s Villages (SOS) is to provide children and youngsters with individual long-term support as the key to a meaningful future. This goal is achieved by building and operating children’s villages and youth facilities, currently home to more than 47,000 young people in 131 countries and territories around the world. The movement grew out of Hermann Gmeiner’s vision for childcare when he was confronted with the suffering of so many orphaned and homeless children after the Second World War.

SOS in the UK raises funds to support these children, contributing to the global income of £200 million. SOS-UK is just about to embark on an ambitious plan of expansion and is seeking an experienced fundraising manager to help them grow and diversify their income streams. With specific experience of conceiving and managing direct mail campaigns the successful candidate will have the vision and skill to develop other income streams to support the work of SOS. It is envisaged that the first area of growth will be centred around major gifts, reaching out to individuals, charitable trusts and corporate donors.
